Solaspheres is a pioneering student venture originating from the George Washington University's Psychology and Brain Science program and Virginia Tech's Computer Science department, revolutionizing mental health care. Based in Washington, D.C., USA, our venture proudly holds the distinction of being a GWU 2023 and 2024 semi-finalist in the annual venture competition, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence. We were also awarded the fourth place prize, which included a full scholarship to Draper University's Entrepreneurship Summer 2024 program. This opportunity allowed our team to gain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of business. At Solaspheres, we specialize in integrating AI-driven psychological assessment and treatment tools, setting new standards in mental health care. Online Video Counseling Platform
Users can schedule appointments with certified psychologists anytime, anywhere, and receive timely, professional mental health services. Our AI system will intelligently match the most suitable doctors based on the user's needs and characteristics.
Intelligent Matching: Our AI system comprehensively analyzes user information, mental health history, and counseling needs to precisely match the most suitable psychologist.
Flexible Scheduling: We adopt a "1 Doctor + 3 Interns" flexible scheduling model. Users can choose to consult with doctors or interns based on their needs and budget. Interns are supervised by experienced doctors to ensure consultation quality. Meanwhile, the vast amount of consultation data provides valuable learning opportunities for interns, rapidly cultivating more qualified mental health professionals.
VR/AR Therapy Applications
We will develop a series of immersive VR/AR applications tailored to different groups such as children, teenagers, and adults, offering relaxation, stress relief, and self-exploration experiences. For example, children can play adventure games in a virtual nature environment to relieve stress, and adults can learn coping skills in simulated social scenarios to boost confidence.
Mental Health Education Platform
We will integrate high-quality psychological knowledge resources to create a public-facing mental health education platform. Users can learn psychological knowledge through articles, videos, and live broadcasts to improve their mental health literacy. We will also provide customized mental health training courses for schools, enterprises, and communities.
We have developed a beta product that integrates AI psychological counseling, digital humans, and psychological problem quantification detection. We are currently iterating rapidly based on feedback from 200 seed users. We have also had in-depth communication with school administrators, psychological teachers, educators, and parents to deeply understand their actual needs for student mental health management and home-school communication. Some schools have already shown strong interest in our product, believing that our system can effectively promote home-school collaboration and help students grow healthily.

Innovative "1+3" Service Model
By employing one psychologist to supervise three professional students, we ensure the quality of consultations while significantly reducing costs, making services more accessible. Other platforms, such as Talkspace and BetterHelp, primarily offer one-on-one doctor services, which are relatively expensive and hard to reach a broader audience. Notably, our model can quickly empower existing campus psychological service teams, training "amateur" student leaders into competent professionals, rapidly expanding the school's psychological service capacity and solving the problem of inadequate staffing. This is a unique advantage that other platforms cannot match.
AI Empowerment Throughout the Process
From intelligent triage, consultation assistance to efficacy evaluation, AI technology is integrated throughout the service process, significantly improving efficiency and quality. Most competing platforms still rely mainly on manual services, with limited AI applications, making it difficult to achieve intelligent service upgrades. It is worth mentioning that our AI system is specially trained to precisely grasp the psychological characteristics and common problems of campus staff and students, providing more targeted and campus-specific triage, consultation, and evaluation solutions rather than general psychological services.
VR Therapy Scene Construction
By creating immersive therapy scenes through VR technology, we provide users with an experiential treatment that is immersive. Most competing products have not yet widely applied VR technology and lack sensory and situational immersion. Our VR content is tailored to address common issues among teenagers, such as anxiety, depression, and academic stress, enhancing therapeutic effects.
Future Plans
Product and Service Upgrades
We will continuously iterate the core product Solaspheres, expand functional boundaries, and improve the full-chain service loop from screening, evaluation to consultation, intervention, and referral. We will customize exclusive functional modules for different groups, such as adolescent growth guidance, employee stress management, and elderly psychological care, to achieve personalized, full-life cycle user coverage. We will also accelerate offline deployment, gradually opening offline experience stores and treatment centers, providing users with face-to-face professional treatment services, and creating a new pattern of integrated online and offline development.
Deepening Technology Research and Development
We will establish the Solaspheres Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, continuously increasing efforts in cutting-edge technology research. Focusing on knowledge graphs, causal reasoning, multimodal emotional computing, virtual generation, etc., we will promote the deep application of AI technology in the field of mental health. We strive to obtain more than ten core technology patents within 5-8 years and realize product commercialization. We will explore combining AI technology with wearable devices, emotional robots, and other smart hardware to provide users with a more immersive and interactive intelligent experience.
Expanding Business Models
On the basis of consolidating B2B business, we will accelerate the construction of diversified monetization channels. Deepening cooperation with insurance institutions, promoting the "Mental Health Insurance + Intelligent Service" integrated solution, and building Solaspheres into a "direct link to medical insurance" in the field of mental health. At the same time, we will focus on the government and enterprise markets, providing personalized EAP services for enterprises, government institutions, etc., helping to build employee mental health management systems. Actively layout mental health data services, outputting data insights and decision support for medical, educational, community, and other fields, expanding profit space. We strive to achieve annual revenue of over one billion yuan within 5 years and reach the 10 billion yuan level within 8-10 years.
