Emotional Support for Special Families
Grief needs to be seen, and no one should walk through it alone.
The Wuxi Family Planning Association, which operates under the Wuxi Municipal Health Commission, commissioned us to provide psychological support across Wuxi's urban districts. We serve families who have lost their only child or whose only child is disabled ("special families" under China's family-planning policy). Our work includes home counseling for older parents who have recently lost their only child, home visits to older adults receiving special family-planning assistance during or after a hospital stay, and group sessions for families.
The goal is to ease grief and emotional strain, help older parents rebuild resilience, and reconnect them with the people around them.
Book a Demo01Three ways we help
-
Home counseling
A counselor comes to the home, assesses the situation, and then provides ongoing support. The assessment itself is where the help begins.
-
Home visits and follow-up
We visit older adults receiving special assistance during or after a hospital stay, and look after both their physical health and their mood.
-
Group sessions
Four themes: art healing, music care, smartphone photography, and traditional Chinese wellness. Small, safe, warm groups help people reconnect with others.

04Team
A lead psychology expert, counselors, social workers, and volunteers make home visits in teams organized by district. A quality-supervision group oversees the work from start to finish, using standardized follow-up forms and geriatric depression and anxiety scales for assessment.
